welcome back to adelaide

The new airport is quite nice, it’s pictured above during the christmas rush. I flew into Adelaide on Christmas Day, just in time for a lovely Chrissie lunch with the family. Today I caught up with some friends for beers this afternoon, and then had dinner with a (rather soft) friend in North Adelaide. All good so far but I must admit I was a bit disappointed that I found myself alone and back at the apartment so early after dinner, instead of being out and about. So I poured myself a glass of vino, and stepped outside for a ciggie -and before I’d even had time to light up an old mate walked past. We sat outside chatting and drinking wine for a few hours and i remembered that’s what I love about Adelaide - the spontaneous social happenings. Whether it be running into an old friend on the street, at the supermarket (which I did this afternoon) or anywhere at all - there’s a brilliant familiarity here, that makes you feel at home.
